About this story

Five years of fighting after Fallen Order

Cal is no longer an inexperienced fugitive: he is fighting the Empire and has learned to operate under constant threat. But the losses keep piling up and make him doubt that any of it is achieving results. Striking one facility does not stop a vast state machine, and the people close to him need not just another victory but a chance to live. After a hard operation on Coruscant, the damaged Mantis brings Cal to Greez on Koboh. There his personal search for something to hold on to meets the discovery of ruins that open up a long-forgotten chapter of the High Republic.

Koboh, Tanalorr and the lure of an unreachable refuge

Exploring the remains of an ancient Jedi presence introduces Cal to Dagan Gera and the legend of Tanalorr, a world beyond a dangerous spatial barrier. It means different things to different people: a lost ideal, an obsession or a chance to hide from the Empire's eye. Raiders and military forces are active nearby, and past decisions gradually explain the present struggle. Technological finds and old maps matter precisely because they could offer a real way out. Yet the mere existence of a remote planet does not answer the question of who should be allowed to reach it.

Survival as responsibility for others

Cere and Merrin tie their work to helping people the Empire is hunting. This widens Cal's task: saving his friends also means deciding whether he is willing to share safety with strangers. The fear of loss returns, but now it is felt by someone with great abilities and long experience of violence. Survivor is best played after Fallen Order, because the crew's relationships and earlier traumas do not start over here. The High Republic ruins also link the Imperial era to another age, showing how old failures keep shaping the lives of those who come later.

Route context

Under Imperial Rule

The new regime inherits the Republic's army and institutions but gradually changes the rules of everyday life. Clones look for a place after the war, Jedi hide their past, and smugglers work between the interests of the syndicates and the Empire. Resistance has no single center yet. Its early forms grow out of concrete needs: helping a fugitive, protecting a child, guiding the persecuted to safety or refusing to carry out a criminal order.

Bode Akuna turns out to be a former Jedi and an Imperial agent who wants to secure his daughter's safety. His choices shatter the crew's trust and lead to an attack on Cere's base. Fear for his own child makes the idea of opening Tanalorr to other refugees unacceptable to him. Cal reaches the planet, but the road there brings new losses and a dangerous slide toward the dark side.
