Rey film (announced)
An announced story about Rey after Episode IX and her attempt to build a new Jedi Order. This is a marker for the future, not a summary of a finished film. A possible rebuilding of the Order continues a question the saga left open after Luke: how to pass knowledge on to new students while learning from the mistakes of earlier generations.

About this story
What was actually announced
At Star Wars Celebration 2023, Lucasfilm presented a planned film from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy with Daisy Ridley returning as Rey. The announced direction is a new Jedi Order after the events of "The Rise of Skywalker". Material from the event mentioned a time jump of about fifteen years. That is the basis for the marker of about 50 ABY: it describes the stated plan, not a verified date from a finished work. A working title, the lineup of students or a future villain should not be inferred from this general information alone.
The legacy Rey inherits
By the end of Episode IX she has trained with Luke and Leia, has some sense of the ancient Jedi tradition and knows about the failure of the previous school. The theme of a new Order therefore follows naturally from questions the saga has already raised about training, attachment, fear and trust between teacher and student. Still, this is a connection to known events of the saga, not a confirmed account of the script. The record stays in the route as a marker of a possible next historical period; for now it should not be watched or read as a finished event on a par with the nine episodes.
Route context
The Skywalker Legacy
Luke's attempt to found a new school ends in disaster, and the New Republic underestimates the forces that grew out of the Empire's legacy. Rey, Finn and Poe come to the fight by different paths, while Leia once again rallies people around the Resistance. The final trilogy explores inheritance through choice: what to do with the mistakes of mentors, a dark family past and knowledge that has to be passed on. The announced story about Rey is marked separately as a future project.

In the announced premise, Rey is rebuilding the Jedi Order.
At the end of "The Last Jedi", Rey takes the ancient Jedi texts from Ahch-To, so she has not only memories of her training but also a written foundation for the tradition.
