Andor
Cassian Andor is gradually drawn into the underground. Over two seasons, local resistance, intelligence work and political struggle converge into a single movement. The series pays close attention to money, secrecy, forced labor and state surveillance - without them, the story of the future Alliance would be incomplete.

About this story
From personal survival to a political choice
At first Cassian is not looking to become a hero of the Rebellion. He has his own debts and losses, and a need to stay ahead of anyone pursuing him. Ferrix, where he lives, runs on work, shared memory and informal ties between its residents; outside authorities see it mainly as territory to be controlled. When a local conflict spills beyond everyday arrangements, Cassian draws the attention of Luthen Rael. Their meeting opens the way to a wider resistance, but joining it means giving up the hope of simply waiting out the danger.
Who pays for the underground, and how
Luthen works through hidden contacts, intermediaries and risky operations, while Mon Mothma has to combine her life as a senator with support for a movement the authorities are hunting. Resources do not appear on their own: they have to be obtained, moved and hidden from inspections. Different groups hold their own convictions, so a common enemy does not guarantee trust between allies. The Imperial Security Bureau, for its part, looks for patterns in isolated incidents. The series thus shows the organizational work on both sides of the conflict and the cost of mistakes, which is paid by far more people than the leaders.
How the Alliance is born
The heist on Aldhani, the clashes with the Imperial system that follow and the events on Ferrix gradually change Cassian's attitude to the fight. The second season widens the scale and builds toward the moment when scattered cells have to act as a single political and military force. What matters here is not only bold action but also the language people use to explain to each other what they are risking themselves for. "Andor" works as a prequel to "Rogue One": a familiar intelligence officer gets a biography in which his convictions are shaped by experience, and devotion to the common cause is not a trait he starts out with.
Route context
A Spark of Hope
Local protests and scattered underground cells gradually learn to act together. That takes money, intelligence, safe contacts and a shared vision of the future. "Andor" shows the organizational and personal cost of this work, "Rebels" follows a crew that starts out defending its home, and "Rogue One" brings separate paths together in the operation without which the Alliance would never have had a chance at the Battle of Yavin.

On Narkina 5, Cassian is caught in a forced labor system where even following the imposed rules does not guarantee release. The escape and Nemik's last message help him move from opportunistic resistance to a conscious commitment to the Rebellion. Later Cassian takes part in the rescue of Mon Mothma and in getting intelligence gathered by the underground to the Alliance. The ending brings him to the mission that opens "Rogue One".
On that mission Cassian will give his life on Scarif. The series shows that his readiness for such a sacrifice grew out of what he lived through rather than being built into the character from the start.
