Battlefront II (campaign)
Iden Versio and the Imperial Inferno Squad receive new orders after Endor. The campaign shows the war during the transition to the New Republic. The story moves from serving the regime to testing personal loyalty: the new orders endanger the very people and worlds the soldiers believed they were fighting for.

About this story
The Imperial view of Endor
The campaign opens with Iden Versio, commander of the elite Inferno Squad, who is used to seeing the Empire as a source of order. For officers like her, the destruction of the second Death Star is not a celebration of liberation but a staggering loss of the center of power. Yet the state keeps functioning: commanders, ships, communications and orders prepared in advance all remain. This perspective helps explain why the war goes on after the end of Episode VI. Large military structures do not vanish just because their leader can no longer command in person.
Operation: Cinder and the limits of obedience
Palpatine's posthumous orders are delivered by special messenger droids. Under Operation: Cinder, Imperial forces attack even worlds that considered themselves loyal, using devastating interference with their climate. Soldiers have to weigh the idea of defending the state they were taught against what they are actually ordered to do. For Iden this contradiction stops being abstract. The campaign shows how convictions change through concrete experience rather than simple declarations: even a sincere conscience does not erase the distrust left behind by past service.
Two eras in one campaign
The main story covers the period between Endor and the Battle of Jakku, as the Alliance becomes the New Republic and the remnants of the Empire try to hold their ground. The late epilogue and the Resurrection expansion return to the characters as the conflict with the First Order draws near. The 4-5 ABY range therefore marks the main post-Endor part, not every scene in the game. For a chronological route it helps to keep these stretches apart: a new generation grows up between them, and the veterans' decisions already shape their children's lives.
Route context
The Fight for Freedom
After Yavin the fight goes on: losing one station has not cost the Empire its fleet, its garrisons or its ability to hunt down its enemies. Luke trains, Leia supports the Alliance, and Han has to decide how far his loyalty to his friends extends. Alongside the main story, games show crime syndicates, Imperial special forces and pilots. The events after Endor are a reminder that a decisive victory and the end of a war do not happen at the same moment.

Operation: Cinder also hits Vardos, Iden's homeworld, and the attack on it is led by her father, Admiral Garrick Versio. This blow finally destroys her faith in the Empire.
Iden and Del Meeko refuse to carry out criminal Imperial orders and defect to the New Republic. Their path leads to Jakku, but their old ties to the Imperial system do not stay in the past forever. A later storyline brings back Hask, now tied to the First Order, and puts Iden's daughter, Zay, at the center.
